His Holiness Pope Francis receives Sheikh Osama Al-Azhari, one of the scholars of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and a member of the Board of Trustees of El Bambino Gesu Hospital in Egypt

His Holiness Pope Francis welcomed at his residence in the Vatican His Eminence Sheikh Osama Al-Azhari, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Religious Affairs, one of the scholars of Al-Azhar and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Human Fraternity Foundation. 
Participated in the meeting, Monsignor Dr. Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, former personal secretary of His Holiness and President of the Egyptian Human Fraternity Foundation.
Sheikh Osama Al-Azhari conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to His Holiness and expressed to His Holiness the feelings of love and appreciation of the Egyptian people in all its categories for his holiness. Sheikh Osama Al-Azhari presented to His Holiness the projects that the Egyptian Human Fraternity Foundation is implementing on the Egyptian land to serve the needy and the poor and to translate the document of human brotherhood into good deeds and living culture. 
For his part, His Holiness affirmed his respect and love for Egypt, His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the great people of Egypt, and his encouragement for the Egyptian Human Fraternity Foundation, and for every work aimed at serving the poor, orphans and the needy, and spreading the culture of fraternity and coexistence among all human beings.
Monsignor Yoannis Gaid, President of the Foundation, expressed his sincere thanks to His Holiness and pledged to him to continue to work with every effort in all the projects that the Foundation seeks to implement, especially the project of the Bambino Gesu Women’s and children’s hospital, which will provide treatment and science and will alleviate the suffering of many Egyptian families and will make Egypt a destination For treatment to all brothers from the Middle East, Africa and all countries.
It is worth noting that this project could not have taken place until after obtaining the approval of His Holiness Pope Francis, who allowed the opening of the first hospital in the world bearing the name of the Bambino Gesu Hospital outside Italy in appreciation of Egypt’s regional and global importance and the distinguished relationship that binds His Holiness with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and His Holiness the Pope Tawadros, and the Grand Imam, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and to the great people of Egypt, who welcomed him as a dear guest in 2017.
